What is Inflatable Bubble Ball?
Inflatable Bubble Ball (also called Loopy Ball, Bubble Soccer, Body Zorbing) is the first of it’s kind in New Zealand. In a typical game of Bumper Ball, teams of people get together to play football or soccer wearing giant bubbles (similar to zorb balls) with the aim of doing whatever it takes to score a goal.
The game is very fast paced because there is less schemes and rules to the game which allows for flexibility to the player to simply read and react.
For many they are timid, because there is contact made in this sport. However, you are in a bubble and the majority of your body is protected from immediate harm.
How to play?
Once you get over the fear of contact, you are literally a one man/woman wrecking ball. A lot of people get really involved with the contact part but there is one critical part to the game and that is you must score more points than your opponent.
Inflatable Bubble Ball involves climbing inside an inflatable bubble and subjecting yourself to getting bounced, rolled, and flipped. More fun than soccer, safer than football, cheaper than hockey, and bouncier than basketball. Just like your typical game, with potential bonus points scored by catching an airborne ball in your bubble and running it (and yourself) into the goal.
Is it safe?
Usually after the first half, it gets really entertaining and competitive but at the same time, many are exhausted as there a lot of movement in the game as well it is physically demanding.
In general, Inflatable bubble ball can be made with either PVC or TPU. TPU is more flexible, resistant to tearing. Inside the balls, you’ll find harnesses that you put on like a backpack that keep your arms secure, and keep you from falling out if you get knocked over. Plus, your head is contained eight inches below the top of the bubble, offering neck protection upon collision.
Probably one of the funnest things you’ll ever do, and it’s a WORKOUT.
